He Is Lost, And She Is Gone

Why do things never last? Chief Executive Officer Stairmen pondered this question over and over while gazing down upon the rainy streets of Las Vegas. He wished the droplets of rain would remain on the outside of the window instead of imprinting themselves upon his cheeks. Alas, the tears started to flow with the beat of the rain, and his heart stopped. He died once more where he stood, staring into his own reflection. If things don't last, why should I, he thought. Money comes and goes, but....

As I watched him fade from his hollowed soul, his dimly lit light took me whole. I knew then as to what was my role, but not for whom to console; For the turmoil in my heart jumped like sparks from burning coal. This bittersweet taste could never wash away the disgust from my face. I've fallen too low to save myself from this grace. Grace, and it's eternally, peaceful retreat could never be embraced, so I'm embraced with defeat, gracefully. I hate to be the person who hates to be me, but as I watch myself fade, I eternally release.

All the gold in the world

But noone to hold me

If nothing ever lasts

Then why is it you're not here

I thought your memories would be enough

But, I can't get along when it's this tough

I need you to be here

How do you expect me to be strong knowing that you're gone forever

And tears will fall

On the morrow

And tears will fall

For you

Tears will fall

On the morrow

Tears will fall....

For you

Please wake up

I made you this

If you sleep too much

You might forget what day it is

Not so fast....

We don't want to wake up before it's too soon

We may end up missing what could never last

You might end up missing what should never last

Time doesn't last

It only passes

Just like you

And tears will fall

On the morrow

And tears will fall

For you

Tears will fall

On the morrow

Tears will fall....

For you

Tears will fall

Tears will fall

Tears will fall

On the morrow

Tears will fall

Tears will fall

Tears will fall

For you
