You Have To Dig! Stats And Gameplay

In the fast-paced 2D  game of 'You Have To Dig!', you take on the role of a character who must dig down with their pickaxe to collect materials, upgrade their gear, and survive all the baddies along the way! 

Rules:

A Button is to attack

B Button is to mine (hold down and point in the direction to mine)

Up D-Pad is to jump

Left/Right D-Pad is to move left and right

Down D-Pad is to open chests and doors

Top Left Green Button is to activate powerup

Top Right Class Button is to activate class ability

Top Left Level And Health Bar is to indicate level and current health/max health

Top Right Left Button is to open the cash shop

Top Right Mid Button is to open stats and player menu

Top Right Right Button is to open the settings menu

Top Middle Points Bar is where you can see your points

The goal is simple really. You must dig down and not die to baddies or get pushed to the top of the screen. 

After each level, you're taken into the shop to upgrade and buy new items. Use the matter that you have earned from mining blocks, killing enemies, and opening chests to get these items. Every new item scales your stats higher! Keep and eye on your stats by opening the stat menu

Seems simple enough, right? You get matter for mining blocks, killing enemies, and opening chests, and you can use that matter to buy and upgrade equipment in the shop.

 

And remember folks, You Have To Dig! 

Quick tip, 'YOU HAVE TO DIG': Digging down is one thing, but actually digging is another. Dig as many blocks as you can to collect as much matter as you can per level! Also, kill more baddies to get bonus points and diamond matter!!

At the top of your screen is your points. You earn points from each block you dig, each enemy you defeat, and completing levels! You can also earn Star Bonus points of up to 8000 points at the end of each level if you killed more than 40 percent of enemies and 40 percent of blocks for that level. Upon completing a level, you also get + (3 * current level) white matter, and +(3 * current level) black matter.

You start out with these base stats on your player:

  • Mining/Pickaxe: 1

  • Sword/Attack Damage: 10

  • Helm: 10/Max Health: 100 + (Helm: 10)

  • Chest plate/Armor: 10

  • Pants/Speed/Jump Force: 0

To make it more fair, your attacks stun enemies for up to 2 seconds and your abilities can stun them for up to 5s!

Power Ups

You can pick your powerup at the beginning of each level. There are currently 3 power ups. Power ups are mainly utility and can buff your player. Use them wisely, like before you go up a big group of baddies!

  1.  Bonus Sword: Chop down a group of baddies quickly!

    • Increases your attack damage by a percentage (25 percent) of your attack damage.

    • Lasts 5s 

    • Cooldown 15s

  2. Bonus Defense: Survive big hits from bosses!

    • Increases your utility and defensive stats by a percentage (25 percent) of your armor, health, speed, and jump.

    • Lasts 5s

    • Cooldown 15s

  3. Bonus mining: Loot more!

    • Increase drop rate of items mined by a 2x for a limited time.

    • Lasts 5s

    • Cooldown 15s

Classes

Before you pick your powerup, you must select your class if you're at level 1. There are 4 classes currently. Each class has their own unique ability and differently scaled stats.

 

1. Warrior: Well Rounded

  • Super Slash: Close range slash attack that deals a shockwave that deals player's attack damage to, knocks back, and stuns (3s) multiple enemies. The shockwave also destroys blocks within its radius.

    • Cooldown 5s

    • Deals damage equal to the players Attack Damage

  • Stat Scaling: 20%

    • Armor = Current Defense + (Current Defense * .20)

    • Helm = Current Max Health + (Current Max Health * .20)

    • Sword = Current Attack Damage + (Current Attack Damage * .20)

2. Mage: Area Of Effect

  • Fireball: Long range fireball that explodes on impact and deals damage to, knocks back, and stuns (3s) multiple enemies.  The explosion also destroys blocks within its radius.

    • Cooldown 8s

    • Deals damage equal to base 35 damage + Current Level

    • Applies a burn to each enemy that ticks 3 times dealing 10 damage + Current Level

  • Stat Scaling: 25%​​

    • Sword = Current Attack Damage + (Current Attack Damage * .25)

3. Tank: Withstand Damage

  • Invulnerability: Makes the player invincible for 5s

    • Cooldown 11s

  • Stat Scaling: 30%​​

    • Armor = Current Defense + (Current Defense * .30)

    • Helm = Current Max Health + (Current Max Health * .30)

4. Assassin: Quick And Powerful

  • Bomb: Throws a bomb that explodes instantly after hitting an enemy or 2 seconds after hitting the ground. The explosion then deals damage to, knocks back, and stuns (3s) multiple enemies. The explosion also destroys blocks within its radius.

    • Cooldown 6s

    • Applies a burn to the first enemy hit that ticks 2 times dealing 10 damage + Current Level

    • Deals damage equal to base 30 damage + Current Level

  • Stat Scaling: 30%​​

    • Pants = Current Speed/Jump + (Current Speed/Jump * .3)

    • Sword = Current Attack Damage + (Current Attack Damage * .3)
